Say Goodbye Yawney! |
Times have come and gone for former Chicago Blackhawk coach Trent Yawney. Yawney,
who was fired from the Blackhawk organization Monday (November 27), dad only thirty
three wins with the Blackhawks since the start of last season. How do I feel
about all of this as a Blackhawk fan? All I can say is YAHOO! Trent Yawney came in as Blackhawk head coach at the end of the beginning of the 2005-2006 season replacing long time Blackhawk head coach, Brian Sutter. If I had the choice, I would have kept Brian Sutter and never would have given Yawney a chance in the first place. I believe Brian Sutter is a great coach; he just never had the team to show he was a great head coach. "The bottom line is wins and losses and we needed to win more," said Blackhawk’s General Manager Dale Tallon. “We've had some injuries, but in spite of that we're a better team than our record shows. We've won three of our last 15 games and we decided to go in a different direction. We want to play a more up-tempo style game." Denis Savard, Blackhawk legend, long time assistant coach and a member of the Hockey Hall Of Fame, will replace Yawney. I think this is a big step for the Blackhawks. Savard is a great coach and a hit with the fans. Hopefully he will be as successful coaching as he was as a player. I wish him the best of luck. |
